Q: Why use New Wave Car Wash?
A: New Wave offers the very latest in high tech car wash equipment.  Our German-engineered Karcher Opti 8000's are the only contouring touch-free automatic wash equipment in the car wash industry.   We use a water reclaim system, the best soaps and protectants, and the most powerful vacuums available in a clean, spacious, modern facility.  Your car will be glad you brought it to New Wave!

Q: Are you environmentally friendly?
A: New Wave is proud to have a state-of-the-art water reclaim system.  This system reclaims up to 70% of the water used in an automatic wash and turns it into water which is perfect for initial rinse and washing the undercarriage of the next car.  We also use only biodegradeable soaps and waxes in all of our wash equipment.  All of our waste water is captured and sent into the sewer lines and not down storm drains which protects our ground water sources.

Q: How often should I wash my car?
A: Weekly if you really want to protect that shine, but a minimum of once or twice a month to keep road salts/tar, bird droppings, acid rain and other paint hazards from ruining your finish and rusting your underbody.  Washing your car once a week will ensure that your vehicle's surface is being cared for properly and is one of the best investments for maintaining your vehicle's resale value. 

Q: Is it worth upgrading to your "Ultimate" automatic wash?
A: Absolutely!  Cleaning a vehicle using a touch-free wash has a tremendous advantage in that it will not cause dirt, salts and road grime to be "buffed" into your car's finish.  However, in order to get a good touch-free wash it requires a perfect combination of high water pressure at the proper angle, quality soaps and protectants and time.  Our Ultimate Wash gives you all of these by combining the unique contouring hot water wash with both high and low pH pre-soaks, triple foam protectant, Hyrdo-Pel water beading finish and a spot free rinse, all applied for just the right amount of time.  Once you've had the New Wave Ultimate Wash you won't want to settle for anything less.

Q: Why should I use a pre-soak cycle?
A: Your vehicle is assaulted by all sorts of organic and inorganic materials which will ruin your car's finish over time if not removed promptly.  In our automatic washes we use two different pre-soaks specifically engineered to do just that.  Just as in doing your laundry, it is best to let the pre-soak work on your car's surface for at least 1 minute before rinsing.  When using our self-serve bays, select the pre-soak cycle at the beginning of your wash in order to allow the chemicals to do the hard work for you. 

Q: Does Triple Foam polish and clear coat protectant really make a difference?
A: In a word, YES!  The triple foaming polish has additional protectants which adds shine and aids in the drying process for your car.  The clear coat protectant in triple foam protects the paint surface against acid rain and UV rays which will keep your car looking newer longer.   Use it regularly instead of having to hand wax!

Q: What is Hydro-Pel?
A: Hydro-Pel is applied to your vehicle to protect glass and painted surfaces so water can be repelled off the surface, similar to the product Rain-X (tm).  Applying Hyrdo-Pel to your vehicle will help protect it against rust, and allow rain and snow to bead off the glass and paint.  The more you wash with Hydro-Pel, the better your vehicle will shine!

Q: It just rained or snowed, so why do I need to wash my car?
A: This is a critical time to protect your vehicle's finish.  Pollutants such as sulfuric and nitric acids from automobile, truck and factory exhaust become trapped in the raindrops or snow flakes that settle on your car.  The sun will evaporate the water (acid rain) and leave behind concentrated acid that can damage your car's finish.

Q: I have the protective coating on my undercarriage so why do I need the undercarriage treatment?
A: Our undercarriage treatment removes salt, sand, and other road contaminants that are present year round.  The undercarriage of your car also takes tremendous punishment from small stones that are kicked up by your tires.  These stones bombard the undercarriage and nick your undercarriage's protection and may expose bare metal.  Once rust gets a foothold it will spread regardless of the protection.

Q: Why shouldn't I just wash my car at home?
A: Most people use dish washing detergent to clean their cars which will actually strip off any wax protection that you may have.  In addition, washing your car with the garden hose will use at least twice as much water (typically 70-100 gallons vs about 35 gallons at a car wash) which is then sent into storm drains and not down sewer lines for proper treatment.  New Wave uses the best soaps and finishing products in the automobile industry to clean your vehicle along with high pressure spray equipment which can't be matched at home.   All of our water is either recycled on site or sent into sewer lines so it is properly treated before it returns to the environment.

Q: Will my truck or SUV fit in your automatic wash?
A: All stock vehicles (even 4x4s) will fit in our over-sized Karcher wash bays.  This includes vehicles up to 7' 6" tall and as long/wide as a dually.  Even full size Humvees and vans can fit in our bays.

Q: Do you offer interior cleaning?
A: Many people don't like to have someone else inside their vehicle, so we have coin/credit-card operated vacuums with both fragrance and shampoo features available for you to use.  These vacuums are the most powerful in the industry (at least twice as powerful as the typical home shop vac).  We also offer a wide variety of highest quality towels, window cleaners and interior dash cleaners made specifically for your vehicle.

Q: What interior cleaning products do you recommend?
A: Armor-All makes an excellent cleaning product (our Armor-All Cleaning Wipes) suitable for any interior cleaning job.   New Wave is also proud to offer Meguiar's Interior Dash Wipes for their brilliant, long lasting, non-greasy surface cleaning and protectant.
